Feng Shui

“The Tao, or the Way, the philosophy which underlies Feng Shui teaches how it is possible to order our lives to exist in harmony with each other and the natural world. We can use Feng Shui to help us work towards achieving this”

There are three respected schools of traditional Feng Shui that have arisen over many centuries and I am expertly trained in all three: Form School, Compass School and Flying Star School.

Form School

Birthed in China around the 4th Century, Form school was originally used to find an auspicious dwelling or grave site for the dead.  It was also implemented to seek the most prosperous location to build a city.  Form school historically investigates the effect and contour a landscape has on a site and its inhabitants.  Modern day ‘forms’ can be anything from a lounge suite to a painting and Form school incorporates the popular concept of furniture placement.

Compass School

This school stems from the trigrams of the I Ching (The Book of Changes) which holds many secrets of the Universe and is a foundation in China for divination, mathematics, Chinese Medicine, Taoism and more.  Compass school incorporates the power of directions and sectors into the analysis of a space.

Flying Star School

Also known as the Three Period school, Flying Star school is regarded to be the most sacred, comprehensive and difficult school of Feng Shui.  This school takes in to account the influence of time and is based on complex mathematical patterns.  The most powerful and exciting effects of Feng Shui are witnessed through the correct application of Flying Star principles.

Modern Feng Shui

Times have changed, as has our way of life since Feng Shui was created thousands of years ago.  When Feng Shui started there was no electricity, no pollution and no chemicals!  These days we are exposed to new modern day elements of electromagnetic radiation and harsh chemicals on a daily basis.  Feng Shui must adapt to this new world order to further increase its potential.

Modern Day Feng Shui draws on the strengths of the traditional schools, complimented with the practice of Sick Building Syndrome and Geobiology.  Sick Building Syndrome or Building Biology acknowledges the toxic society that we find ourselves a part of today, the price it takes on our wellbeing and endeavours to create the most natural, organic state of existence within our living spaces.  Geobiology, geomancy or divination of the Earth strives to harmonise the energetic structure of the land and geopathic stress within the Earth that we reside on.

Charlotte is trained in both Geobiology and Sick Building Syndrome, important complimentary modalities to traditional Feng Shui techniques.
